I'm wondering why they're putting it up for sale. Isn't it still one of the top selling games? Why not wait till sales die down a bit first?

The best time to have a sale is when a product has a high level of visibility, actually. The traditional model of waiting until the hype has died down doesn't work out that great since that mostly just grabs the bargain bin hunters. A small-scale sale during the boom phase of a product, however, will draw in a much larger crowd of fence-sitters and generate greater revenue.

It's a pretty good price for KSP. It should add a lot of new players that were on the fence about purchasing.

If you want to see some pricing contrast that will really make your eyes bug out, check out the alpha of Planetary Annihilation on Steam for $90. It looks like a pretty cool game, but $90 for an alpha release?

You could get Alpha Access during the kickstarting phase much cheaper (iirc). The 90€ are only for people who just found about it and think: This is awesome make it happen - I'll support you!

I am glad you got a legit version of KSP, Scrop. Mind you it is not very good to mention piracy on this forum but I guess you are an exception as you brought the full version and supported the Devs. Congrats

I am happy with expansions for free I got and the gameplay I have got out of the game to date. But I do feel sorry for the people who bought at the higher price, didnt get the 'expansion free deal' and missed the sale as well.

well, its part of life. i work at Toyota and some just bought a car before the sale, as for losing your 5$ from the sale , well .... i don`t think it would buy a pack of beer

i just bought the game and yes to all the ones with the same question as i did, yes all my planes,parts,etc works with the new version[ was using the free version until some mods were not compatible and wanted to play them

Caused a bit of a ****storm on facebook overnight. A lot of people complaining that they bought it within the last week, and now the offer price. Saw one guy calling Squad a bunch of criminals for taking his full price payment only yesterday.

Ya, but it's always on the featured section. I probably would have waited for the summer sale when there's TONS of people looking for deals and then made it 25% off so that people see it. That way more people will see it and throw it into their cart along with other stuff.

I paid full price two weeks ago. And then learned if Ibought it weeks ago Id get all expansions free. I feel sandwiched on the deals. Arg.

No expansions have been announced anyways. We who bought it earlier will only get it for free due to some people completely misunderstanding thinking that expansions would be free as well.

For all we know there might never even be an expansions and even if there are it is years ahead.

I was a bit irritated as I purchased the game a few days before it went on sale, but oh well it seems like it's worth the full price.
