Female Kerbal Possible Concept Art (they are supposedly androgynous but bear with me)

Hahahahahahahahaha! Sorry but I was LOLing in RL with that remark! :D
Thats not a good argument. Homer was designed to be a fat and lazy Human male in his early 40's. Kerbals are just small green Creatures with giant heads a slit for a mouth and two eyes. No other facial features.

The kerbals where designed to be male smart person. It was later said they are genderless due to not having females.

You are most welcome. Could you answer my question now?

Sure thing. I chose that template, and I already saw the pencil sketch which in fact I also liked, but wanted something a little different. Unlike you though, I didn't think that the renders were THAT big a difference to the current body configuration of Kerbals. I mean look...

...short legs...check

...stubby feet...check

...short arms...check

...stubby hands...check

...oversized head...check

and by far, most of the negativity had something to do with the skin color, purple hair and horns and overly large anime eyes :D And to that I say, yes they can be discarded--I just wanted something close that doesn't really MATCH the one in the sketch (because like I said I already saw that sketch before in a thread in the Fan art section).

Think... Rhea vs. Ostrich...I think you will know what I mean.

The problem here, as is true with most things we battle in life, is that everyone thinks that their points of view are universally shared. Not 'ought to be shared', mind you. Are shared.

I might then wonder how it is that a Southern Farmer votes differently from a Northern Industrialist.

Incidentally, this effort has not one thing to do with feminism! Please stop with that useless and wholly inaccurate deflection. It is about human response and the human condition where IT JUST SO HAPPENS that females are the current sub topic.

This is still one of those discussions I hate Squad for. I rather them just slap a female kerbal together and call it a day then to be lazy and say they have no gender. If that is the case how come they look male? This is why I consider guys to be jerks most of the time >.>, only think about themselves. It's all good cause there is a gender less male looking kerbal. Who cares about females. I swear game developers are so sexist when they make game characters. Only males will play this game so lets make male character and forget any possible female audience we have.

Anyway ... end of my rant.

The model doesn't fit the art style very well, but I could most certainly see where it's going and I have to agree, it looks like a really good base to start something with.

In the end if Squad doesn't do it, I will mod females into the game myself >.>

I agree with this

There should be female kerbal astronauts.

The basic model should look like a male kerbal (same eyes, same general shape of the skull)...they are the same species.

That leaves the hair as the distinguishing feature. Simple enough. Or you could make them a slightly different color, since animals can show coloration differences due to sexual dimorphism, although it's mostly birds that are very extreme about it. But I like green.

So you as a HUMAN female can make your own Profile picture.

Why not in game? I honestly think you are arguing just to argue now. You really have no reason to argue with me about this .. other then to be a jerk.

Well stated. Even an altering of the hairline and a slight softening of the eyes would create sufficient distinction.

So you as a HUMAN female can make your own Profile picture.

So let's see, we have a profile picture (which actually is referred to as an "avatar" according to VBulletin) to represent ourselves in fora or whatnot, and THEN we have the in-game Kerbals who have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with you as the player--they are "detached" to you. Is THAT really the final form of the Kerbalizer product? Is that Squad's official statement? What if it's like the Creature Creator in Spore, where it's just a "testbed" and that we will actually have that integrated into the final game? Ok first lets assume that Kerbalizer is in fact, purely for just creating "offworld" avatars okay...Well that may be true if you play KSP like Command and Conquer, but what if I play KSP like "Dungeons and Dragons" (not that I really like to Role-Play in KSP, but I think you get the drift)? If I were a developer, I would consider that as an option of gameplay or gamestyle, and according to my survey (remember that? "What Kind of KSP Player are You", there is a sizable number of "Casual Role Players" here, and I'm willing to bet some of those people actually think that THEY ARE Jeb, Bob or Bill.

Don't call me a jerk.

Then don't act like one. Just because you can't see the point we are trying to make doesn't mean you need to act like a troll like how you are doing. You have absolutely no reason to be arguing about this other then for the sake of arguing. It has no effect on you if they add females or not, so why bother trying to argue there shouldn't be any?

Really if you'd just let us put our Kerbalizer kerbs into the game this would all be over, but if that's not possible the above suggestion is entirely sufficient to handle the situation.

I know most people aren't playing KSP like a roleplaying game, but I know that I created Diana Kerman and I want her to represent me. My god you should see me panic when "I" might die. So much more connection than if Jeb is in danger.

Again, lol you beat me to it. I share these views as well, and my intents when starting this thread. I am still waiting for the suggestion on how to retitle the thread, but then since most of you seem to be enjoying your "forts" now (chuckle) maybe I should just leave it as is :D

And may I request Brabbit and Canopus to please tone it down a bit--I think we have a good discussion here, let's not spoil it by adding the ad homenims. Thanks.

giant staring lifeless iris... nope.

strange mouth that seems to connect the lips and tongue via some unknown organic tissue.... nope.

long, flowing hair... nope.

is a kerbal... nope.

appears prepubescent....nope.

I can honestly see no good reason to use that... art... as a starting point for female kerbals. As stated, it makes much more sense to alter the current model rather than design an entirely new one based on some random anime style thing. At least that way we would get something that looks to be from the same planet, whilst at the same time saving time due to not having to start entirely from scratch.

And to the individual who said that the devs have more important things to be doing, yes. A thousand times yes.

I have the same rights to argue in this Forum like you. And if i don't think its a good idea i'm allowed to express myself.

Beautiful. Exactly what I was getting at. And yes, like I said, I have this nagging feeling that the Kerbalizer is just a teaser fragment of a program that would eventually be integrated into the game itself in final form, much like the Spore "Creature Creator" of long ago.

That is your opinion sir, and will be respected. Thanks for the input.

Again I request Brabbit and Canopus to take it to PM, or I will ask a mod to close down the thread. Which probably some actually would like to happen, so *shrugs* I guess you can go on then :D
