Your launcher had an staging error.

Only 1/4 of mainsails lit up at start.

Please share your creations i enjoy exploding them. :D

Yea armor is pretty much useless on anything once you get beyond 60N.(apart from looking good)

Yup great challenge :D

Also yeah get faster than 100m/s in any projectile and you will tear something off a ship. 200 m/s will tear teh ship aparrt (or at least that's what ive found during combat to be true).

What do you mean 60N? like newtons? I should hope not :P

The phasing issue is caused by physics timestep: the parts might only be in the same spot for a very short period of time at high speeds, so it's possible for the collision to slide unnoticed between frames. Thats why retrograde orbit mines really would never work (asides from the whole you-will-never-ever-hit-anything problem), at those speeds the collision wont occur!

somewhere a have a small limpet mine thing, that attaches to docking ports and burns through things

I'll see what I can make :D Sounds fun.

EDIT:

But if you dock, you become part of the enemy ship, which means you'll effectively be using his own ship against him, which is not allowed in fights...

I do mean Newtons that's what impact tolerence is measured in as far as I can tell.60 is enough to compress the squishey inside bits.

EDIT:sorry forgot the [].Mass times relative velocity does give a good conversion rate.

And my research is DONE :D

This little babby missile is capable of burning through SEVEN layers of 2x2 structural panels, using nothing but the power of sepratrons.

Just RCS-fly it right next to your target and hit space.

It's also stackable.

My weapons all hit faster than that, but they go straight through without doing any damage. Very disappointing to see a shotgun blast something, having the shell explode harmlessly on impact, but having the shot pass through without doing any damage.

yea but its a mine, i couldnt figure any other way of doing a mine other than to fly it up, dock, and place its attack sequence into the enemies weapons launch stage, unless you just pilot a probe up and activate it?

Bio: Grey Stone is a research and development company that focuses on AI and logistics. They generates funds by selling their most resent designs to the highest bidder often receiving questionably immoral payment, such as test subjects.

Allegiance: Grey Stone claims to take no side, but it all comes down to the highest bidder.

UPDATE:Grey Stone Has decided that as of recent events they will cease all business with Hanland and come to the aid of Spiritwolf and would like to apologize for any business that may have been done with Hanland in the past, all future research will be used to aid Spiritwolf.

Proof of Travel: Proof of Travel

Work In Progress:

GS Tortoise

Part Count: ~148

Description: Can hold 5 crew inside the tower(Hitchhiker and Cupola Module) There are also 8 seats in the cabin. It can get up to 20m/s on flat terrain an climb relatively steep hills if your careful. Balanced enough to get into space but still working on it. Perhaps it can be in Hanland hands until Spiritwolf gets a hold of it.

My Fire Ant drones already do this without docking.

Earlier someone asserted that putting large torpedoes on fighters isn't allowed. Where are people getting these rules?

no idea,

no-one as far as i know

the part count rule is self imposed but sensible,

the large weapons on fighters "rule", is just because by doing that they become "not" fighters by virtue of mass and therfore are moved down in the attack order

I would ask the same question. The rules of engagement as they stand are pretty stripped down, I've never heard of these rules.

Well, if one were allowed to control the opponent's ship or any part of of it, he might as well just deorbit the entire ship and win.

not quite the same but i see why you dont like it, i just couldnt think of any other way to simulate a mine

im trying to make a ship thts frigate size but with battle cruiser armorment also the vengance refit retro fit making it with just under 400 parts but its worth the part count also if you try to use a hades from over 159 meters it wont hit the torps hit each other

After submitting my Light Escort, "Callisto", to this thread I have gone over the thread in greater detail. It looks like weapons and weapons delivery systems of the small to medium ships are more powerful than the ability of the larger to capital ships to protect themselves with just passive armor. It also looks like, at least to me, that carriers, and the small mini-fighters dependent on them, are in real danger of being destroyed early in any engagements.

I think somebody has already pointed this out but -

Ships need more anti-fighter or anti-missile defenses of some kind. And in any engagement played in this series, it needs to work even if no 'player' is at the helm.
