Calculator for determining how many parachutes you need.

First time posting so forgive me if this isn't in the right sub-forum.

I made a simple tool that will calculate how many parachutes you need to slow down to a desired velocity at a desired elevation on a given world. It's still a work a progress so any suggestions would be very welcome. Hope this helps somebody out!

Thanks!

Trial and error methods are fun, but get old.

And good methods for determining maximum opening velocity for a given mass and number of chutes? I have a lander that I have to fire retro before the chutes fully open or they snap off, negating their usefulness. Sometimes only a few break off, so it makes landings even more fun!

Had the same with a Kethane miner a few version ago. Without retro burning it would rip the chutes off and crash. After retro burning it gently touched down safely every time.

It took a while though before I figured out how much I had to slow down without wasting too much fuel.

That'd make for a good addition to the calculator. I'll look into.
