Jeb and Bob crashed their rover a few km from the lander. I attempted to fly them back together, switching between them and attempting to keep both aloft. It worked well, for about 5 seconds, and then gravity looked sharply in Jebs direction and returned him unceremoniously to the ground;

It's ok thou, its Jeb, he's HARDCORE. Takes more than a little out of helmet experience to end him!

Wow. That first picture. I had a "funny" thing happen to me. Had landed by KTR (Kerbal Transport Rocket) on Duna to transfer the crew from my Space Station to my base, since they were bored up there.

One of my science team kerbals hopped off the rocket and onto a kerbal that was sitting in a seat on the transport rover to take them to the base. This is the result;

Needless to say, he was bugged in his seat.

If I had to guess, i'd say you need better radiation shielding on your LV-Ns. This looks like gene mutation to me.
