Heracles Battlecruiser: A hero who became...scrap metal.

Recommended Posts

So here is the long awaited report on the ship I have been developing. The Heracles Project was started to create a defense ship for operation in kerbin SOI to defend against possible enemies (you know who you are). But it failed horribly. As expected of course. The engineers got the battlecruiser part down...but not the launcher part. Here is a documentation of the cruisers maiden flight:

The first set of boosters fall in slow, laggy motion off temstars amazing supernova.

Shortly after (random time warp thing in the way...?) the cruiser decided to separate from the launcher, and then the launcher responded by running in to the ship.

Chaos ensued as the mission controllers franticly tried to find a self destruct button.

Unfortunately there as none...

In the end the pilot on board died, as did 6 other kerbals on the ground. 23 people were injured. The debris caused a lot of damaged to the Launchpad and VAB, which ended up reducing their budget by 50%.

So yeah...quite hilarious. The blueprints were tossed in the trash bin and was retrieved by Jeb...https://www.dropbox.com/s/at68r7krx4a0m0g/Heracles%20Battlecruiser.craft

Would've continued work but it was way to laggy to be useful anyways. The cruiser is available to anyone interested.

How the battlecruiser was intended to work:

Cheers, have a great day.
