It's not an exact statement and has not been posted by Squad. Max only mentioned in the stream that their goal was to get 0.21 before August, but that it was always subject to change depending on how the development goes.

Short story, no release date as usual, hard to predict when update will be ready.

I'm putting on my rose-colored glasses here and hoping that the exponential increase in building interior part count implies some breakthrough in optimizing the game to produce less lag with more ship parts. Otherwise, some folks may be lagging before flying ;).

Actually, according to Maxmaps in the live stream, the new SPH/VAB has less polygons than the old.

Yeah, Artyom is very economical with polys from what I can tell, doing most of the effect with exquisite texturing and general design. I believe Novasilisko made the old models, and I gather he has a reputation for throwing buckets of polygons at things.

Has anyone else noticed the clouds? If the VAB scene is integrated with the space center, does that mean that there will be clouds in 0.21's Kerbin?

Yes, but notice in the June 25th weekly it says: "Sadly that picture could only be obtained after said kerbal had digitally added nonsensical gas clumps to the sky that just look weird."

Although this may just be a cover up so we don't get any ideas, I don't think it will be in the next update.

The old models were actually made by Jacobo, long before NovaSilisko joined the Team. :)

WOW!!!

Hey hold on, I see a new button!!!!:cool:

Max mentioned in the stream that the new button is associated with the new crew loading system. Not much details explained though, but he said there will be the ability to pick the amount of crew members for each pod in the ship.

Wow, that does look awesome. Looks bigger too which is a solid win. I have one concern, with the increased detail will there be increased PC pain? I already suffer in the VAB and SPH (cos I build stupidly high part count things). I fired all the kerbal workers from the buildings to reduce un-needed PC strain. I'd rather have simple and be able to build 400+ part craft, than pretty and laggy. Here's hoping there is good optimisation as well as good pretty.

Saw them. And oh my gosh. Beautiful, realistic, and with enough reminiscent of the old ones to satisfy. And less poly count? Brilliant!

Arg!! Got to wait still... At least this gives me time to finish my voyage to Jool before starting anew..
