Once again, KSP influences a new, real rocket

The most KSP-like feature in the Ariane isn't the boosters - I mean come on two's positively tame - but the struts that hold them to the core. It's like, how shall we make sure the boosters stay attached? Some nice sleek design that looks like it was always one piece? Nah, just stick some metal bars across the gap and be done with it.

This design is just one proposal, made by CNES. The other major one is one proposed by the major subcontractors of the Arinae 5, Safran and Airbus; they propose basically an Ariane V with smaller solids and a smaller core stage. Right now it's looking quite likely theirs will be selected over CNES's.

Everyone who disagrees with the OP is simply denying the Kerbals of credit for their untold many scientific advances. Where do you think solar panels came from, for example? Definitely not humans, that's for sure.
