21 purists in the house so far. No seriously. What's with the hate with part add-ons and plugins if you can just use stock by yourself and don't mind them and the people who use them?

Why the hate for purists? If you want to use mods you can just use them by yourself and not mind the people who like stock.

I generally use mods like MechJeb and Alarm Clock but not parts mods, unless they add some functionality that doesn't exist with stock parts. Lazor docking cams, Lazor Cams, Lazor Robotic Arms, (I like the Lazor stuff, just not interested in the weapons) ISA MapSat, Kerbal Attachment System. The sole exception being KSPX, because Claira is now on the dev team. They might as well be stock.

I might have to try that one out in 0.21. My biggest problem with most parts mods is that they don't fit the art style for the game. B9 has some amazing looking parts (for instance), but I just can't see using them with little green men sporting Tom Hanks widow's peaks.

Maybe if someone released a mod to change the Kerbals...

There are some great options in there and they all look stock. None of them are overpowered, either. It's basically just stock with more options for fuel tanks. There's even a tank that's 1.5 "orange" tanks. Different battery and RCS tank options, too.

I'm with you on the other non-stock parts. They look great, but they don't fit.

Well who doesn't hate people who think they're better and much more skilled than others because merely due to the fact that they don't use any kinds of part add-ons and plugins in their game?

And hating mods already count as borderline purism IMHO, but that's just me.

I agree, it's totally worth it to spend your emotional energy on people who have no real effect on you or how you enjoy a single-player video game, and giving them the satisfaction of knowing they got under your skin.

Meh. I don't hate anybody, well, very few people, but I get very annoyed when people start telling me how to play. There are always going to be people who think they're better than you for one reason or another. They can think whatever they like as long as they don't think they're entitled to tell me how to play because of it. Judging by how much I chime in on the subject, I guess it's sort of a hot-button for me.

Vote Libertarian! :D

i dont believe people claiming they know how far their rockets can go without reading the flight data mechjeb/VOIP/engineer when they are building their ships.

I can't claim that I *KNOW* how far my ships are going to go, but I think I've gotten pretty good at making a good educated guess based on experience. Sometimes I'm wrong, most of the time I make it, though. Despite being a math person myself, I'd prefer not to get too bogged down in delta-V calculations. I just make a rocket I'm pretty sure will work.

I choose the second one, but only because it's the closest thing to "I don't mind mods, but I usually play stock because I can't figure out how to install mods."

Well generally it's a matter of copying and pasting into the correct folder of ksp. You can always google "ksp how to install mods" and a couple of good tutorials should pop up.
