Distance to Target?

Recommended Posts

I often see videos where someone is putting together two vessels in orbit and there is a Distance to Target reticule and indicator painted over the other vessel. How do i turn this on? At this moment when I want to find out the distance to the target I have to go into the orbital map and mouse over the other vehicle.

Example:

Thanks in advance!

You target the vessel by clicking on it and 'set as target'.

I seem to recall that anything inside 30km pops up a distance counter as well when in view. At least does on the ground, it's how I know I've gone beyond 30km for the rover ribbon, lander no longer has the distance popup when I turn around (goes off right at 30km).

Sometimes it's hard to find the other vessel when you're in orbit to see the distance display. It helps to point your vessel toward or away from the target using the Navball and then orient your camera to sight down it.

Hadn't thought of that...kinduva smack your head sort of moment. Gonna have to try it next time I do a docking maneuver.
