Taxi Runway for Aircraft

Hello!

Recently I watched a video and saw in 0.21 you're going to update the entire space center! Which is awesome! But there was something that I've always wanted and that was a taxiway for the runway

In the update 0.21 the tower looks really close to the runway, I couldn't tell how far on the video I watched, but it looks like it will pose a threat to my aircraft I design, like this guy!

Large aircraft are not the only benefit from having a taxiway, in fact it is the least of my concern

Having a taxiway with a small parking area will not only give the Space Center a new great and more realistic look while moving the flight tower away from the runway, but also will give you a place to go and park your aircraft after your flight, which will be a great feeling especially after a re-entry and perfect touchdown on the runway, or a perfect flight with your newly designed prototype aircraft.

Also, having a parking area will allow you to save certain aircraft instead of terminating them when they are left on the runway, allowing you to save your favorite aircraft off to the side whether it be for show, or for a mission.

I think this would be a great addition into the game and I really hope this does get added into the game, because I hate to say it but I spend 99% of my time designing aircraft and flying them rather than rockets into space

You're right, but they can still update it before the release of turn-able aircraft wheels since they are updating the entire space center right now, and they are going to update all the plane parts in the future, Plus there are many mods that allow you to turn your aircraft! :D

It's generally considered bad form to bump your own thread without providing new or relevant content.

I didn't know, I hardly use the forums so I apologize and won't do that again, but in my opinion I think this is a fairly good suggestion for the game and would really like to hear what people think about it =\

Would definitely improve the look of the KSC further.

I guess that could be sort of "nice to have"-priority, if some designers are not assigned to an important task right now (who could imagine? :D) that would be probably a good one.

Where would you taxi to? There's no other interactive elements on the KSC site.

Parking is pointless as its just more parts to render and simulate on launch.

It would just be an extra thing you can do, of course you don't have to, it's just adding a more realistic look to the Kerbal Center.

It gives you something extra to do besides just landing and saying "well that's that" this way after your flight you can taxi and park your aircraft, or even vehicles, while moving the air traffic control tower further away from the runway which in my opinion is too close. And I'd personally like to have some of my aircraft sitting off to the side in the parking area just for looks, or if I need to switch aircraft then they're ready to go without having to launch them :)

Exactly! I mean if you've ever done a really long flight and came back and landed and everything was perfect, then you're just sitting there with your aircraft on the runway like "now what", with a taxiway and parking area it gives you more pleasure because then you can park your aircraft then choose to keep it there or you can always end the flight when you want

I support this. It would be a good thing to accomplish now, while the space center is being updated anyways. While not very functional, I'd like the ability to park the few aircraft that didn't spontaneously explode.

I think, this would be a great KSC-Upgrade you have to build.

In addition to that: build a "terminal"-upgrade and some "parking slot"-upgrades where, when parked on, kerbals can be un/boarded from/into the craft.

This way, players will be able to open their own space flight corporation.

I think a lot of things are possible with this update, but just a simple taxiway and parking area would do great for now, with perhaps a landing wheel that can turn

In my opinion the aircraft portion of the game is just as, or nearly as important as the space portion of the game, and I really hope the developers add more runways and airports across Kerbin, some with the ability to refuel your aircraft and some without the ability to refuel your aircraft, like it would be neat to have one route around Kerbin where there is no airport to refuel at this way you can have the challenge of designing an aircraft that can go all the way around Kerbin without refueling

I'd say it makes more sense to be able to put a ship in the hangar, removing it from the world but refunding you the cost of any parts on it. Then you don't have to manually refuel, taxi, etc.

Yeah :) but just adding a taxiway and maybe a small hanger or two to park your aircraft like the ones at the second airport would make more sense for right now, then adding additional features later, I would just personally like at least a taxiway and a small area to park while they are updating the space center

I would love all of these suggestions. The devs almost certainly won't incorporate all of them, they seem to only ever add a small amount of something, like kspx so far. But adding an apron wouldn't be hard for bac9, and shifting the SPH is pretty easy.
