What do you guys think of the Mun's new surface?

I think it looks far too uniform, but I also think it's an improvement. I think if they put more variability in them then they have something.

Looks fine for now, I do agree that it looks to neat though. I am sure it will get better though.

I think static pictures look really cool, even tho it needs some tuning (in terms of color and sizes). But when I watched it in motion in all those videos, it looked so weird when LODs are being loaded and you see craters and their edges appear magically and somewhat glitchy. That looks seriously bad IMO, especially in low orbit when moving fast above the surface. Hope it can be fixed in future.

Looks great. Gonna make long rover trips a lot longer though. Won't be able to lock down W, ASAS and walk away from the computer anymore. You'll have to navigate around sketchy terrain.

I think it's gonna make my kethane operations much harder. There's no good flat spots to land! And I gotta land a lot of equipment for the kethane operations I'm running. I gotta refuel the massive ship it all went out there on so I can push to Jool next. I already put a probe out to Ike to see if it had any good deposits (the answer: no. No big ones easily accessible from equatorial orbit.). The new Mun surface will make the Mun a heck of a first stop.

Put it along side a picture of the real moon and you'll notice the crater sizes and distance between them are fairly similar.

I like what they've done here. It'll make it a more interesting place to go.

Looking at the comparison, I'd say the craters on the Mun actually need to be more clustered, and in some cases a bit larger. That, and the craters from the maria should be removed.

Were you messing with the roll during the rocket boost, or is the new ASAS logic still unable to use the torque potential of clustered engines to hold roll attitude of a rocket?

I think the new Mun looks pretty good, to be honest though i think it's the Eve surface that needs a little attention, it feels like sacrilege to me to even criticise KSP as i like it so much, but dang, Eve surface is like featureless plasticine.

Eve's surface looks very different in these 0.21 sneak peeks, and none of the views were close up, so I don't know what to say about it at he moment.
