What else can be done in this game

i'm thinking i would like to make a mothership with little pods attached to it with kerbals in it.

put the mothership in orbit around the planet, send a pod down to the planet play around for a while and then send it back up and reconnect to the mothership and off we go again

Tell ya what, OP. I'll give you a personal challenge.

I challenge you to launch a ship with a radius of 7 long trusses. This ship must leave Kerbin and land on the Mun. Bonus points if you take more than two functional rovers along.

Why are you doing this.

Foundation built. Needs more cabling, more verbose struts, eight rovers, drop tanks, living quarters, struts, guidance systems, docking ports, more struts, boosters, power systems, and batteries.

Give me an hour.

it's not so much a question of what to do but more of what is there to do that i don't know about.

wasn't sure of such things like.. landing on planets, do you just roam or do you take photos or collect stuff and bring back

space stations, if you put on into orbit are they intractable such as i can enter them and walk around in them?

can you get to ships to dock on each other or dock on the stations and swap kerbals around

when you put satellites out can you do anything with them or do they just sit in orbit and thats it

if there's a ship in space out of fuel, can i get another ship and attach to it and bring it back home.

these sorts of questions :)

im looking through the wiki and tutorials and stuff now to find everything, but as i said don't get me wrong i LOVE this game such a nice change of pace from other games i play.

To compleat half of all the above has take me at least 100 hours of game play. Well worth the $18 i payed. I find KSP can be like RL the more you learn the more you find there is to learn. :D and I agree it is a loverly change of pace, it's kept me entertained for a year or so.

Did you honestly need that much RCS fuel?

Heh. Ever try to turn something with that much weight using RCS? :)

Also, I'm gonna post updates to that thing on my thread instead of spamming this one. Sorry to OP. I get carried away sometimes.

so i just got the game and wondering of the incentive of landing on a planet.

so if i get to the mun or another planet i can get out and drive around on a rover.

is there anything you can find or collect to bring back to home planet or is just getting there and exploring what we do?

is there other stuff you can do in this game?

i know you can put satellite into orbit, but are there other things you can do and interact with once out oin space or is it just launching and landing then doing another launch?

the point is to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no kerbal has gone before. the point is to satisfy the (presumably human) player's compelling urge to explore and discover.

Make a boat! Make a plane! Make a boat plane!

Make an SSTO boat plane!

Make a rover! Make an aquatic, or flying rover! Make a ridiculously huge rover! (Then try to get that hunk of junk to space.)

Make a space station! Make it shaped like something cool. Build a hitchhiker pod city on the Mun!

The possibilities, are almost limitless, and if you need an extra part, that's what mods are for.

I'm on a boat.

As long as you don't use "End Flight" or do some dangerous thruster pack shenanigans, he'll be up there for all eternity.

oh i might've ended flight.. which means he's alive!!

What do i need to populate kerbals on the ship.. do i put more command pods or do i use something else.. like could i put seats on the outside and have the kerbals sit on them? can you have more than 3 kerbals per ship?

man this game is exciting

You can add command pods, chairs... you can pop on some of those Hitchhiker pod things, which hold 4 Kerbals each. Or you can terrorize them and make them clutch onto ladders as you blast into space. Beware, though: Without a convenient mod called Crew Manifest, you have to find a way to put extra Kerbals in. So if you have a huge rocket, you'd best have lots of ladders.

Wait until you get to making space stations. There's something cool about having a tiny city of 30+ Kerbals floating around in orbit.

is all this in the Stock Game? or do i need mods?

i really dont want to get mods yet until i learn the core game.

So you were saying ladders... if i put ladders on it.. take it to the launch pad.. how do i put more kerbals on it?
