Has anyone else done this?

After taking some Kerbals on a tour of the new space center and astronaut complex, I imagined eager Kerbals walking up the path to train for their dream job. I figured, Would it not be awesome to have a pretty super-sonic Jet on display in the front? something to walk under and admire you know? It's a bit silly but I just had to do it! Anyway, if anyone else has done this, I would like to hear it.

I haven't done it, but it looks like a pretty good idea! Maybe a model rocket or first lander on the Mun would also work.

For sure, I was going to put two but it gets a little laggy when you have multiple craft and big heavy launch vehicles in close vicinity

I used to leave test landers and other stuff around the place as I finished with them, to dodge with rovers, and for visitors to see. But the lag was soon intolerable.

Well, you can either display your first flight, your worst flight as a memorial, or put together your own Smithsonian Museum at the cost of your system if it can't handle much. But it is an excellent idea.

Perhaps a potential building that can be added for career mode. A museum to walk around in with ships from milestone flights. Could be cool.

It's not a bad idea actually, I may make a museum some distance away from the KSC (to prevent lag) and house my ships there.

I used to park old orbiters on the flat bit at dirt island runway, maybe stuff could be flown over.... oh wait.

At first I thought it was flying...

I was thinking of doing something similar with my first Munar lander "Munarik", but it landed some kilometers away from the KSC so I still have to reover it to put it on stand

I got inspired by someone who posted the image of their craft that returned from Eve (wut o_.) hanging like a monument!

A "rocket park" to display spacecraft would be nice (like the ones we have at KSC, JMSC, Huntsville, Whitesands, etc), but increasing the lag around the KSC would not be good. If the devs gave us a large empty hanger building that we could position ships inside (including hanging from the roof), that would be fun ( since the ships inside won't add to the lag outside).

Until lag issues can be fixed, how about having a simple Museum where select screencaps can be viewed as "art" hanging on the walls?
