In-Universe Noncompatability explanations

I have often wondered what it must seem like to the Kerbals when a new version is released:

Suddenly, all their fancy technology no longer works, all the ships in the solar system are destroyed, all ship designs have to be thrown out and started from scratch!

Even stranger, some planets completely change their geometry, with mountains raising and falling, craters appearing and disappearing, atmospheres being completely wiped.

Perhaps Kerbol is a variable star, which occasionally flares up into a highly active state?

Im interested to hear people's theories about what the Kerbal would think was happening?

They would be confused at first...but as the world line shift eventually takes hold of their brains, they will come to realize things were always the way they are now, and the few remaining kerbals who insist otherwise for a while are obviously deranged. Any incompatibilities with written reports will be put down to poor record keeping--these are the wild and wooly early days of space exploration, and things get done FAST, and nobody has time to mess with OSHA regulations or writing accurate after-mission reports.

Or the few kerbals who know its diferent would probably get mad petty fast anyway. Like how did Mun got all the craters.

I just had to register just to post this: http://www.stationv3.com/d/20120130.html#.UfjHDxisj8E.link

Religion obviously, or... string theory. After all, it´s always been this way: From time to time, there is a quantum shift and everything chances. Nothing unusual about it. Everytime it happens, the kerbals in some universes praise their god(s) for having been allowed to survive, in others the scientist community announces that another shift has occured and they are frantically researching the new parameters and such, while in yet others (like mine) they just simply cease to exist, while another universe pops up shortly after.

Okay, so:

- Kerbals in-flight get vaporized along with their craft by freak solar flares. They return to Kerbin as backup clones with no memory of what just happened.

- Kerbals on the ground in vehicles suffer a similar fate, possibly involving wormholes opening in the ground. Again, clones come back.

- Kerbals in KSC go home for the night and come back in the morning to find changes to KSC. For example, the entire center being rebuilt overnight.

- New planets are newly discovered objects in the Kerbol system

- Planets moving are put down to technical errors and the Kerbals pretend nothing happened

- Large craters and mountains are caused by earthquakes etc. caused by the solar flares and wormholes

- New parts are new technology

- Loss of atmosphere is the result of, again, solar flares and accelerated solar wind effects

- Loss of planets is those annoying solar flares again, plus technical error + ignore it

- Kerbal changes (e.g. expressions and movement) are new medical advancements and/or drug use in KSC to make everything seem O.K but with side-effects

Alternatively we could just blame the Kraken. He resurrects from his resting place on Bop every update and moves things around a little (and builds intricate structures and develops new technology*)

*I admit,that's a little far-fetched.

Technically speaking, I have Kerbals in a universe that appears to be suspended in an etherspace known as Desktop/KSP.20, and another set of Kerbals who just popped into existence a couple weeks ago.

Woot! 250. That's Senior Spacecraft Engineer to you, buddy.

How about this for an explanation?

(I couldn't post the image directly in, as it was too big, and I couldn't shrink it)

That's not really an explanation. I mean more, as a Kerbal, what would be the reaction, what process could cause such massive change.

I like to think that my kerbals are aware of my existence. They know I'm doing "something", they just don't know if it's going to be "good" or "bad". I can see their pleading little eyes, pointing at the guy next to him, like "Take him! he WANTS to go! See!?"

In that context, they likely just tell themselves "Blade works in mysterious ways. . . Sometimes it seems, without rhyme or reason."Hah! What a primitive species that could simply placate all of their doubts with such a simple phrase! Humans are far more advanced than that.
