Mun super deep crater

Recommended Posts

I was trying to land on the Mun at coordinates for a monolith, while on approach the mechjeb landing guidance was showing extreme changes in distance from target and as my altitude decreased I could see why, my landing zone was in the middle of a thousand meter deep crater with near vertical walls. Oh and the monolith is nowhere to be found

I'm not sure if this mohole is supposed to be here or if it is some sort of glitch

If this is somewhere near the north pole, then it could be the same one that I just landed at today. The monolith is maybe a dozen meters below the surface at the center of the crater. Clip the camera through the ground and you'll see it.

Whoooaaaaaa! That's impressive, it's like the moholes! Note to administration, prep a Mun expedition asap!

I have one at the north, but I haven't been to the south yet.

I got half an hour to spare. Of we go!

Well, my Mun mission accidentally turned into a Mun fly by...

Used the remaining Delta V to return home. So, here is a photo from some Kerbals who are already at the North pole.

There are a few floating boulders that those guys are planning to check out, I might visit them later.

Poles have fascinating terrain. I haven't been to many yet, but my favorite so far is Vall's North Pole.

It's a Munhole! I'm definitely exploring this!

A mohole is more than just a hole on Moho, the name comes from Project Mohole which was a plan to drill a hole through the Earths crust into the mantle

though every time I see the word mohole it makes me want to play Red Faction Guerrilla

Question about this super deep hole- I tried to mechjeb to there but are the coordinates N, S, E, W?

First number:

Positive value = North, Negative value = South

Second number:

Positive value = East, Negative value = West

So 57*39'34"/9*05'00" is 57*39'34"N, 9*05'00"E
