I think I could do a bit of improvement on the red dragon. A little bit of fuel clipping and you can get some proper liquid fuel engines in there.

I know that this would be better, but the real one will land with solid fuel, too.

That's counterintuitive. you want maximum control on landing and solid fuel just doesn't provide that. Why on earth would they do that? It's like 10 times harder to land with solid fuel than with liquid engines.

They will do that because solid fuel just needs so little space.

Read. According to this, the red dragon will be landing using the 8 SuperDraco engine retro package, which currently doubles as the LES on the Falcon 9.

I don't mean to be nitpicky, but I have tried sepatron powered landings. They don't work.

Okay... thanks for information. I had an other source...

Well, I got the sepraton-powered landing to work.

I love this. This whole series.

I've just started a new save file where the largest craft I can use is my replica of the Delta-IV heavy. It maxes at 36 tons to Kerbin orbit. What can your Falcon Heavy do? I'm curious to know what other people are managing. I've also got a Delta-II that can put about 10-tons to Oribt.

I guess you could say I'm the Boeing/Lockeed to your SpaceX. I got tired of just sticking everything on a monster asparagus thing and pointing at any body and hitting GO. I wanted a little more challenge, a little more realism. Similar to you, I guess. The Delta-IV heavy uses 3 large engines instead of small clusters. This helps keep part counts low. Instead of 27 engines, I only have 3.

Something like this? Yes, mainsails have a lower part count and are more lightweight. But the 9 LV-T45 are producing 20% more thrust while they need 12% more fuel.

I think my Falcon Heavy gets something from 40-45 tons to orbit.

Hey Nephf,

The manned Falcon 9 still has MECHJEB attached and doesnt work in vanilla, dissapoint :(

Also, we dont need subassembly files, i just downloaded your Falcon 9 Heavy and i just select it and put it in my Subassemblies.

Also, you can post your launchers here
