Il-2 Stuvmorvik Megathread!

Anyone here Play Il-2? If you do, we should discuss this awesome game.

Also I am an insanely good pilot, I saves this, flew 100 miles wile being chased by a Zero, got my elevator controls shot away, and managed to crash land on friendly soil.

I don't play IL-2,but I play pacific fighter.

It's made by Stuvmorvik and,fro what I can see,it's the same principle.

In that game,I've found a funny bug that drive you to orbital speed,I can't manage to control the plane at those speed,but once the plane got to orbital altitude.

Unforunatly,pacific fighter don't provide a planetary map

BTW:in that game I have been able to return to my base from the enemy base while being chased by the enemy(I don't remember wich plane),but I was using the fastest plane of the game,and,during the chase,I didn't had to worry too much about the enemy fire.

Haven't played in a long long time now, was good fun. I have all the expansions I think ( PF was an IL2 expansion rather than an entirely new game, regardless of marketing ).

I am a long time IL-2 flier and this thread gives me opportunity to plug some videos that i made of IL2 in past years. I also play the new IL-2 called Cliffs of Dover which is now playable thanks to the effort of modding community.

You really should just rename "The Space Lounge" back to Offtopic. It would clear up all of the ambiguity, and look better in the first place.

I'm a big fan of Sturmovik, having played all the games with moderate skill. I'm primarily a fan of the eponymous plane, but I've also had some successes with most of the planes available.

Ahh, IL-2. I have been playing this game for years now. I remember when I couldn't fly with almost any of the realistic settings, but now I am only limited by my setup and my willingness to set up a few more buttons on my keyboard. Recently, I actually got a few friends into the game, and we usually spend a good while almost daily just flying about and shooting at each other. Can't easily keep the realism and have to stick to "arcade mode," as my friends can only mainly use PS3/360 controllers, and there are issues with all the buttons needed to press.

Speaking of controllers, does anyone know how to get Saitek X-52's (non-Pro setup) working fully on Windows 7? I have been having issues, and I feel like I have overlooked something.

You need a Mod Activator for Mods to work. For example, I use the SAS ModAct.

or when your being chased by someone when you have bombs onboard, just drop down low, drop your bombs and laugh as their plane gets totalled from the blast

I did that once or twice.

Except it hit my airplane.
