Pick what place to start flight in sandbox

basically when you click launch, it will show you a map of the kerbol system and you click where you want to launch from.

I like the idea if it was a bit more difficult. Like "Pick a location you've set up a base" where "a base" is a multiton object that contains specific design elements. So you have to get that base to Duna before you can start building ships there.

But I assume something like that is on the far, distant horizon for career mode.

KSC is there for a reason. If you want a "god mode" just download Hyperedit.

I think there is a point to be able to place things on kerbin.

personally I remember times using remote-tech where I wish I could set up ground stations without having to deliver them myself.

I also thought about that but i guess it would actually destroy play and replay value. Not to mention that you could just build anything in outerspace most of the fun is to actually get whatever you create from kerbal into space and beyond.

Uhm. I don't think this isn't a suggestion to magically put things in space wherever you like, ala Hyperedit. It's a suggestion to LAUNCH things from a different point of the planet's surface. In other words, "What if I'd build my launchpad on that continent over there instead?" I think the author's use of "system" in "Kerbol system" was a poor choice of words because it makes people think "entire solar system containing Kerbol", when what was actually meant was "the planet Kerbin."
