Why Don't My Flags Persist?

I planted a flag on Mun. When I returned to the SpacePort/Tracking Station, I saw that it was gone. I used a flag of my own creation (see my "Mun at Last" thread).

What do I need to do to make flags stick?

Flags are usually persistent.

Make sure you did not revert the flight to prior the planting of the flag.

Also did you had the tracking station displaying flags?

Flags don't show up at once at least not in map. They are a bit strange, also I experienced once that restoring an save to just before takeoff removed the flag.

Another issue restoring to an save where you are on an command seat, typical on the lander just before the braking burn and you will not get the plant flag option.
