Ships vanishing?

this is kind of weird.

I had sent a craft out which placed five satellite probes, one around each of Jools moons. They were dropped off in the following order: Laythe, Vall,Tylo, Pol, Bop. The probes were all identical, consisting of the smallest probe core, an inline xenon tank, and ion engine, 2 RTGs, 2 large solar panels, a communicatron, accellerometer, and a [gravity measuring thing].

The next day, I load up the game and find that there is nothing around Pol and only the craft that carried the probes around Bop. Probes P.P and P.B were missing from the map view and the craft lists.

Does anybody know what has happened or has anybody had a similar experience with ships disappearing?

Only when my Eeloo orbital communication/probe dropping craft disappeared somewhere out near Jool... but then the game crashed when I swapped to it using the map view swapping function.

When I reloaded the game, my probe was gone

Just damned glad it had been un manned

Were they referenced as probes or debris when they were detached from the mothership?

they were referenced as probes

I also play with persistent debris so there should be at least something even then

It's happened to a few people, me included. I don't know what causes it, unfortunately, so the only remedy I can suggest is to make a back-up save.

If your orbit is very low, sometimes an orbiting ship will be eliminated, even if it shouldn't be low enough to hit the peaks of the terrain. How low was yours?

If your situation arose in connection with having used time warp, that could be a bug related to the old Space Kraken bug.
