The Pook shuttle

Due to the excellent explanations posted by Ruregathon, i finally have started building a shuttle of my own.

the shape grew by itself and is not based on the WEKA. Yet it looks a bit similar, probably because i like the WEKA so much.

Here are some initial renderings of the Pook.

It's interesting to say the least. Combination of wings and lifting body.It's going to be a bit tricky balancing out the CG/CF/CT, but it should fly the upper subsonic speeds fairly well.

i remember the WEKA shuttle although i could never get the engine to work for some reason....

still this looks awesome but how big is it?

Are you using Blender? Your smooth shading is a bit much. You can use an edge split modifier to reduce the "putty" look a bit. Additionally, marking certain edges as "Sharp" will prevent them from being smoothed.

I'm using Wings3d. I know what you mean about the edge split modifier but this is the first thing i've ever designed using such a program. I'm taking it one step at a time.

+1 I look forward to flying the Pook shuttle. I had some great flights with the WEKA and some real white-knuckle landings after intense re-entries. Used it as long as possible, until maybe half a year ago. Good luck on this project!

I also recommend switching to Blender. Once you understand the keyboard shortcuts it is really easy to churn out a decent model.
