Well, they had talked about crew training before, so maybe their outfit markers will change based on what you've got them trained to do. Or maybe they're going to implement full-on uniform customization like a bunch of people(myself especially) would like to see. Either way, it should be good :D

I'm concerned about the size of the R&D complex... serious lag city.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Look at what Bac9 did with the current KSC. It's bigger and much more detailed than the pre-0.21 version but is much less hard on your CPU.
