Delta V - Newb Question

Recommended Posts

I keep seeing these tutorials about how important your Delta V is, but I can't find how to get the game to show you what it is. I see screenshots people post that shows all kinds of detailed specs on their craft, but I don't know how they got there. Thanks!

Can strongly recommend the engineer redux. So damn useful. It will do those calculations for you as you clip parts together in the VAB. Easy to install, (just as easy to uninstall as well of course), and easy to use. I mean, if I can do it then anyone can. No. Seriously.

You can see it in use in flight in this screenshot

Edit: A-ha, just noticed the delta v i have left in the rocket is matched exactly by my orbital velocity. Seems like a million to one shot there...or just great engineering by accident..or just a coincidence...gah. Universe, why you confuse me sooooooo........

If you're interested in learning how to do it by hand, the formula's here; first thing. If not, KER's a good mod to use (it's one of only two mods I have installed, the other being Subassembly Manager). That particular tutorial I linked is a bit heady - I will warn you about that - but some of the others there are pretty good; the historical missions section in particular I'd recommend.
