Notepad

Recommended Posts

The idea is quite simple : a kind of notepad included as new part which should be readable and editable in VAB and in flight.

This should act as flight manual, describing some features as action groups, or giving some indications, as burn time for TMI for example.

Thanks for reading.

My thoughts exactly, this feature is provided already in the form of Ship description. and if you're putting a ship up for download that needs a manual, most people will upload a folder with the ship and a readme file that expalins how to work it.

Considering just how many action groups some of my crafts use it would be really helpful actually.

Even more so for SSTOs that needs to be flown a specific way to make it into orbit.

It would be really cool if it was a part of the cockpit exterior, either as a notebook or as a stickynote.

While I agree this is useful, I would like to say that I find its actually easier to just use pen and paper. Having an on-screen notepad is convenient, to an extent, but it blocks off part of the screen when you're using it (if not all the time, depending on implementation), and could potentially make things just a bit too cluttered and annoying for my liking :s

It could be useful, maybe, if you think about it.

If you leave the game for a while, then come back, it'd be nice to have a reminder of what you were planning on doing with the big hunks of space stuff you put into orbit last time you played.

As for action groups, that's not a bad thought either.

I use a memory technique, where certain things use certain ranges- for example, engine things are always towards the lower numbers, miscellaneous things are always near the end, and common features, like ladder deployment, always use standard buttons, even if they interrupt other groupings. It works so far.
