Folders for sub-assemblies

Recommended Posts

Now I watched the little preview video you made and I noticed that when you got to the sub assembly announcement there didn't seem to be a way to organize your various parts. What I'm suggesting is that you can add folders or something so that we can easily categorize the sub assemblies so that all my rovers can go in one file, reliable lifters can go in another, and crazy firework dispensers which blow up everything within loading distance can go in their own folder as well.

I think I saw this exact suggestion yesterday. Other than that, this type of thing has been suggested loads of times. Folders, categories, dropdown menus, tabs...I'm sure they'll eventually add one of those means of organizing parts. Well, perhaps not...but it is quite a popular idea so there's a chance.

Incidentally, people make the exact same suggestion for the load menu, saving your crafts into folders and things.

We'll essentially be able to save crafts and payloads in two locations, though, so that should ease up some of the clutter...at least a little bit for now.

I started a thread this week about having folders for normal craft files, but subassemblies should definetly have it too!

We can already make folders in the mod (by adding a directory outside of ksp.exe) and it's very useful when you pick up pre-made ships and subassemblies.

This has been suggested quite often, especially with the update news hinting at the next version having the subassembly features people have wanted for a while.

Just be patient, let's see what all is included in this update's changes.

Subassembly loader is actually on the what not to suggest list as well, thread closed.
