Conducting an entire mission in first-person mode

Anyone ever tried it? I'm talking about anything more than just orbiting, something like a Duna or Muna landing and return. I imagine it'd be a way of adding new difficulty to the game for those who've championed the challenging parts of KSP...

Bit difficult to juggle a manoeuvre node from a first person perspective, unless you consider that as the first person perspective of the guy sitting at a navigation console back at control.

I tried it once, but don't know how to read the internal instruments so it didn't work. I did dock once IVA using docking cams, that was really fun.

I have the same problem in Firefox. No visual editor. It started a couple of weeks ago.

Using Kerbal Engineer would make it more realistic and easy. Might give it a go.

And MJ of course, for maneuver planning. Traveling in space without a map can be confusing.

When Scott did it he had a pre-planned flight profile and flew the mission using a stopwatch... the part of the mission that impressed me the most was when he went "off-script" with that midflight course correction burn.

Don't get me wrong, the whole attempt was two-fisted awesome from beginning-to-end, that was just the most awesome.

In all honesty, I find IVA landings almost more easy than external view landings, at least when you know that the ground below you is relatively flat. The altimeter is just wonderful.

I played for awhile IVA-only, using Kerbal Engineer. Deployed a few RemoteTech satellites, built a 4-part station, and a Mun landing.
