How to reactivate docking ports

After undocking to perform a very simple rotation alignment, it seems like the docking ports aren't working anymore. How do I reactivate them without moving back a few meters?

Only way is to back off a few meters and go back. I don't know the exact minimum distance required to reset.

I don't think it's possible at the present time. The only way I've ever known is the back-and-forward. As was said, it would be nice if the ports could manually be "reactivated" on the part menu.

There are other and more substantial problems with docking ports, need to back off a bit is least of my worries when it comes to rearranging ships made of multiple parts docked together.
