I made a lander called the Turkey something (I usually number them by the number of attempts), which is the cutest thing you've ever seen in KSP. Ever. Here are some pictures:

Sorry, I forgot to take more pictures, but I assure you it can land and go back into orbit. I forgot to put batteries on it so you'll need to deactivate torque and use RCS for turning. there's plenty though.
