Personally it makes me think of shape-shifting buildings. I mean, think about it, in the distant future, making these larger and more structurally solid. Combined with other means of locomotion and locking themselves into place, we could have something like the panels from Portal.

Don't like the layout of the rooms in your house? Have the walls move themselves into a new configuration!

Will say this is more feature rich than the system in portal who was using robotic arms on an outer wall. here you can pretty much drop an heap of them and tell them to create almost any structure.

You want some locking mechanism to increase structural strength. it could also double for recharging. They also talked about various special blocks who might make this useful for more than structure or if you have some blocks with an inflatable or movable side it would be more useful as support structure.
