koksny
Heh I don't know about all that I look forward to seeing what happens. I was above Minmus testing and I was able to attach/deteach etc and everything was working without effecting the orbit.Works like charm, amazing fix, thank you very much. Now could you go to Blizzard HQ and fix their servers so Naxx will work? Seriously tho - great work for upkeeping this mod and doing it so fast. Now could you go to Blizzard HQ and fix their servers so Naxx will work? Seriously tho - great work for upkeeping this mod and doing it so fast.If I could I would haha, thank you and glad to hear everything is working and hope there are no other bugs.*EDIT* Found another small bug with taking objects from container, fixing it now. Cultist_O
I feel really dumb, but I have tried to follow the conversation back, and have met with little success. I would like to install KAS for the very first time ever. To make it work properly in 2.3.x what do I need to do? What I think I've gathered is that I need to download an outdated version from the OP, and then one or more fixes to somehow integrate in to it?Is this correct? If so how do I apply the[se] fix[es], and how do I keep up to date on the latest fix?
Boomerang
Anyone have a patch that they find works in .24.2 x86? The patch I had that worked fine in .24.0 and .24.1 gives me the the container-breaking error and the 64 bit patch from JeffersonFlight fixes the containers, but anything that I try to pick up just slides off kerbals backs without ever attaching. JeffersonFlight
Ya I'm working on a fix now for the container bug, what it is when you couple any part in flight above other body's it messes up the velocity for kerbals and you fly away from your ship. To fix that I had to mess with the couple which is now as far as I can tell only breaking grabbing objects from the container.*EDIT* Fixed all post updated with current downloadSorry for the crazy updates back to back, but should be good now.Because circumstances will have me unable to update KAS in a timely manner, I am temporarily allowing the distribution of the KAS plugin modified for 0.24 compatibility purposes. Please do not distribute any models, textures or other art assets, and please do not distribute any part configuration files. If you'd like to balance part costs, please use a ModuleManager patch. This permission applies to the plugin only. (The KAS project has a number of contributors, and it's always a challenge to ensure all creators' rights are respected.) Please link to modifications in this thread and avoid third-party sites like Curse. (Something like Dropbox or Google Drive for hosting is fine.)This exception shall expire as soon as I release an official update, so please bear that in mind. This is intended to allow volunteers to address compatibility issues for the players, not to otherwise grant distribution rights to the KAS plugin. In order to fix grabbing Radial parachutes while on kerbin you must go into your KAS plugin Directory and open addModule.cfg and scroll to bottom and look in parachuteRadial and remove "physicJoint = true" and save the cfg.**Radial Parachute fix picture = http://imgur.com/a/EkmuM#0In no way am I representing Majiir or is this an official patch. As always I would make a backup of KAS before installing.Allot of people have been having issue installing the fix with KAS. First download this(Its Majiirs KAS) https://nabaal.net/files/ksp/KAS_v0.4.7.zipExtract the GameData folder from the zip file^ into your KerbalSpaceProgram directory( you can find this location by right click on the launch icon and selection open file location OR through STEAM right click on Kerbal Space Program and select properties then select local files and next click on browse local files)After that you need to download my KAS fix or KAS recompile depending on if you are playing KSP 32bit or KSP 64bit. You can check this by look to the bottom right while KSP is running at the main menu.If you are running 32bit KSP download this https://www.dropbox.com/s/qgp9a06n2k...tRecompile.zip and do the same as we did before extract the GameData folder from the zip to the Kerbal Space Program directory and override what it ask.If you are running 64bit KSP download this https://www.dropbox.com/s/4kaie9rnpi...64bit_24_2.zip and same again extract the GameData folder from the zip to Kerbal Space Program directory and override what it ask.For 64bit only if the above version is messing up with grabbing from containers try this version https://www.dropbox.com/s/0f4x4xcu2d...64bit_24_3.zipI hope this resolves the issue for you but if not I would check the last few pages and see if anything posted might help you. I haven't seen this kind of clashing though. In other news, I installed Kethane and EPL plus interstellar, but it's all very wooly and unstable so I think I'll just give it up for a while before a fully patched and all the conflicts gets resolved. (Edit: more info:) like yesterday I got a spaceplane all the way to Jool (no KAS parts), and then today it crashes on vessel load. It sounds like his 64-bit fix is also showing success. You can find a link to his fix on post #1707.EDIT: Sorry, missed your last two questions. You apply the fix by downloading the file and replacing the old .dll with the new one. Save a copy of the old one incase you want to return to it.Keep up-to-date by watching this thread. Once there is an official 0.24.2 update, I believe the update checker will be correct at that point. Right now, you'll get an error starting KSP saying KAS is out of date, just ignore that for now. :-) Edited July 31, 2014 by Kethevin

Also thank you for the information I looked at the KeyConfig setup and not really sure why he would be getting this erro.64 bit, the newest KAS patch, and 0.24.2 = /One thing I can think of and not entirely sure if this could be an issue but do you or have you tried to run KSP as an Administrator?I will do everything I can to get it working for you but I haven't come across that error. Cultist_O
Awesome thanks a ton! I am using 0.24.2 (and apparently typoed) and trying to use x64 for the time being. I will try what you have suggested, I'm very excited to try this mod out. And thanks for letting me know which post to go to, that would probably have been the hardest part of the whole process! sralica
Hmmm, if I grab Radial parachute in orbit (300 km) if flies away (it drifts away slowly in 32bit, flies away fast in 64bit). and in 32bit the camera stayes focused on the parachute not on the kerbal.if I grab a battery it is ok, it is attached on the kerbal.running .24.2, KAS_v0.4.7, KAS64Bit patch and a bunch of other mods. IGNOBIL
I am busy with RL obligations. I am not participating in the Kerbin Cup this round. (My team got this far running at 50% anyway.)If you would like to make a serious offer to maintain or assist with any of my projects, please send me a note. They require a lot of time (and a lot of money, in some cases). Otherwise, kindly keep your thoughts on mod maintenance to yourself.Mate, great mods! Please update them at your own time and if someone is not happy they can seat on a rocket somewhere else!Cheers

So I reverted to whaaw's recompiled dll and ran it in 32 bit and the issue went away.Anyway I think 64 bit isn't worth it at the moment if the only benefit is more available memory. All I had to do to get my 30+ mods working in 32 bit was add -force-opengl to my launch options in steam and the game is WAY more stable now and uses way less memory. Funny thing is 64 bit is also a lot more stable when I force opengl on it too. Unity devs must hate microsoft or something.
