Keeping antennas up after transmitting?

Far as I can tell, there's no way to lock them in place. best you can do is put them on an action group and re-extend them when you're done transmitting.

No, the external seats don't work like pods for data storage. They act like you're still on EVA: you can take surface samples and EVA reports without even leaving the chair, and if the rover has a transmitter, you can transmit them directly, too.

Just click on the Antenna and choose extend. :)

If you transmit something after extending them, they retract again when they're done transmitting. He was looking for a way to stop that and just leave them open.

Someone made a modded part for rovers (without pods) to replenish a Kerbals flag while cruising - I think we need such a part for storing science as well - detachable (jr. ports) so one does not have to bring the whole rover back to Kerbin.
