Why are the Capsules on the Staging List?

Recommended Posts

did you ask why SAS and ASAS were on the list before?

and did you ask why the tank was on it too?

Because they actually display(ed) useful information?

As far as I know the pod doesn't actually tell you anything

SAS and ASAS werent displaying anything anyways if you recall.

and

when they had the tank on the list, they had the engines there as well while the engine is showing nothing meaningful anyways.

the purpose of showing the engines in the staging list is to know at which point they fire.

Anyway, I was wondering the same thing, Brotoro.

From what I remember there used to be a bar telling you the reaction force the SAS and ASAS were providing, it's pretty useful to know if your SAS/ASAS isn't providing enough force to keep your craft stable

At some point the armount of SAS force being applied used to be displayed on SAS modules and capsules, similarly to fuel levels. That was removed, but the pods are still there.

Edit: ninja'd! Damn touchscreen keyboard!

The pods are not "still there"... the pods were removed quite a while ago along with the SAS units. I'm wondering why the pods have been PUT BACK on the list with version 0.22.

I know what you mean I find it kind of annoying as space stations now have loads of extra stages and stuff

It would make sense, if you could right-click them for the avaiable-actions-menu. Maybe they ´forgot´ to implement that? But they do have one (tiny) funtion, apparently: If you hover over them, they get highlighted on the actual rocket - so you can tell which pod is which (and belongs to what stage).
