Will satelites with antennas on it improve my transmitting status?

Hi there,

I have finally designed my first probes ever (never used them before the latest update).

They are basicly just falling antennas in some orbits around Kerbin (one in 150k m and one in 1000k meters).

My goal was to establish some kind of communication network, thought it would maybe be possible to increase the transfer rate on those experiments (instead of having a 20%, maybe 60%).

I think it does not work this way, does it?

Nope, percentages are fixed for each type of experiment/task and cannot be altered by anything being done in game (AFAIK)

If you mean multiple antennas, then it won't do anything, you only need one on each vessel. I still use multiple, for reasons!

There is a mod that allows you set up communication satellites, but I don't know the name. Someone here will know.

I think multiple antennas on a probe can speed up transfer rate if you transmit several experiments at one.

I can confirm that you can send multiple experiments at once with multiple antenna, but a network of separate satellites will do nothing for the vanilla game. The add-on RemoteTech adds the requirement of a working communications network to the game.

I suspect that they'll be adding range limits on those antennas at some point, along with the possibility of using relays, at which time a satellite could be useful, but not at this time, and it's not even definite that they are going to do this. They've tossed around the possibility, that is all.

Correct, I used a Communotron 16 on my Eeloo lander and on my Jool atmospheric probe with no issues.
