Is there any tool / window / screen which would help me plan a burn home?If you're on the equator, wait till Kerbin is on the horizon (on the west side I think) and burn straight up. That is retrograde.
Ralathon
If you're on the equator, wait till Kerbin is on the horizon (on the west side I think) and burn straight up. That is retrograde. This is the least efficient way to get home since it maximizes Gravity Drag.Best way is to get into a very low orbit (15km or so) and then burn prograde when Kerbin rises (not sets!) over the horizon. alexustas
Absolutely LOVE your work. All-IVA missions are fantastic. I'm having a hard time finding any discussions about HOW to complete all-IVA missions without maneuver nodes. For example, when you're on the Mun, how do you target Kerbin? Which instrument / screen would you use to tell you when to perform your burn for the return home? Great work.Select target, orbiting at KerbinAnd when the"EJECT ANGLE" is close to zero, perform your burn

TMS
Damn... this mod really came on leaps and bounds. This will be the first mod on my next install (when I actually get some time to play).Well done, Alex.
nukeboyt
Select target, orbiting at KerbinAnd when the"EJECT ANGLE" is close to zero, perform your burn Thanks. That bit of information is precisely what I've been looking for. Looking forward to the great-looking new interiors!
K3-Chris
btw alexustas is there a better way to place props in IVA than editing the position, rotation and scale numbers manually, re-loading the database and then going back to a craft on the pad with a pod with the IVA you're editing on it? I've been adding RPM monitors to mod pods that don't have them, and editing one number at at time guessing how much I need over and over gets pretty annoying fast. Is there some way to get a live preview of what you're doing?

Is there some way to get a live preview of what you're doing?Oh God, did you really do it like that? Of course there is a more convenient and effective method. You need the Unity editor (free version is sufficient) and the KSP PartTools package v0.20 or newer. There are threads around the forum describing how to use either. After you get both installed, tell PartTools where your GameData is and it will give you a full list of Internals and Props it finds. In “Spaces†tab, select the Internal you want to edit by pressing "Spawn", and the editor will load the interior with all the props. In the “Props†tab you will find a list of all the available props. Just press “Spawn†on the one you need and it will appear in the scene.Make sure that all the props you added are below the internal in the Hierarchy, place all the props and click “Save to Configâ€Â.Run KSP or reload the database, and enjoy. K3-Chris
Thanks for the quick tutorial, really helps being able to modify things in real-time, one last question: I'm adding MFDs where nothing else was before, so I need some way to realistically mount them, either on an arm or a plate, like those dark gray panels holding all those controls, I assume to place those in an already existing interior I need to make them props? I can make a cube, turn it and scale it properly but it's not there when I load the interior in the game, how do I make the cube into a prop? And is there some way to give it the same material/texture as that element in the interior?Huh, googled around and there seems to be no guides on how to make props at all, there are some old stuff but it makes several huge leaps about how to use the parttools stuff in the editor with no explanations Edited March 8, 2014 by K3|Chris

smurphy34
Wow, that is just... I don't have words. Without a doubt this is the best, and most immersive, IVA ever in KSP. You have my respect and admiration and I wish there was some way to show my appreciation other than with a post.I believe you had said your next release was dependant on RPM .15 but I hope it is soon, can't wait to have snacks with Jeb and Bob
K3-Chris
Sweet (or savory), it even animates? nice, I guess you need to put the tray in an upright and locked position before landing.I wonder what kerbals eat, Koylent Kreen?

K3-Chris
Btw shrouded the alcor lander can into somewhat of a drop-pod shape complete with a heat shield: Javascript is disabled. View full albumIt's not perfect obviously, the bottom window is blocked and it looks a bit goofy merging an angular shape like the pod with a perfectly circular part, but I quite like it. Food Stationhttp://i.imgur.com/4ZNlHK4.jpghttp://youtu.be/CaokYMKV_-Qwow this is really getting awesome but how about in the future you can introduce a 2m version that is ad primarily for station and management instead of landing because that would be awesome or even a for habitation although just a suggestion

K3-Chris
Oh, I consider the home lander a bit big to categorize it as a "trunk" XD
Horus
Well, yes. Calling it "trunk" was a bit too much. Sorry. But you got the idea. Edited March 9, 2014 by Horus
specs
Whoa, nice props, I can't wait till the next release!Any chance it'll be getting normals? Personally, I think that ALCOR deserves more TLC, and especially in regards to the textures...I threw myself together a quickie texture based off of it's original, it's 2048x2048, but as I said earlier, ALCOR definitely deserves to look spiffy: Edited March 11, 2014 by specs Hoisted by my own petard!
