Switching control of Rocket Parts

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

KSP newb, just got the game yesterday. After fiddling with some terrible designs, I finally managed to make a rocket that gets into space beautifully, with fuel to spare.

The design is a booster frame, with the actual ship carried in the middle.

I was rather proud of it, and am planning on using the frame to launch all future endeavours.

However, upon getting into space, and releasing the ship, this is what I was greeted with, to my dismay.

The important bit just blasts away, while I'm stuck with my view and control on this lumbering pile of scrap slowly falling back to the ground.

How do I change the focus and control to the important part?

Thanks!

Sadly those png screen shots are not links to images, but are instead just where they are on your computer.

At a guess, though, I'd say you want to do one of 2 things:

1) before launch, right click on your capsule where your kerbals are and say "control from here". It will then always be in control when you decouple things.

2) Once in space with this problem, hit [ and ] to cycle through nearby things. One of them will be your capsule.
