Transmission queue

Recommended Posts

Here's something I think might be handy: a transmission queue.

Say when you hit 'Transmit data," a window similar to the data info window shows up- except it has each 'to be transmitted' item and a progress bar. And maybe an 'abort transmission' button.

Cos sometimes I can't tell if something's transmitting or if it missed somehow.

Definitely a feature I'd like to see - if line-of-sight requirements for communications come in the future, this would allow players to think about managing / scheduling transmissions for when contact is re-established.

Might also be good to allow each science report to be moved up/down the queue with regards to priority.

Guise.

Run all the science components you have one time each

Click keep data on each of them

then when you want, click the antena and press transmit data

If you see you are getting bricked mid-transmission because of the energy consumption, then right click the antenna and click stop transmission.

I don't see how your method makes this feature any less handy to us. o.o

It's not the solution or a way to discredit the suggestion. What I meant is that you already have part of what you are asking for in the base game. Maybe it's not useful for you, but there may be someone out there that sees this and didn't know about that.

I real like this suggestion becouse it could also alow you to send the data in small batches (several reports at the time) to prevent your craft running out of energy when the neumber of all reports is so big that you don't have enough energy to send them all.

Ah, apologies. I misunderstood.

I was just thinking about this yesterday as I watched half a dozen reports scroll by, each yielding 0.0 science. It would be nice to be able to cut further transmissions of a repeated experiment out if the queue, or perhaps reorder their transmission to get the most science out of the last few power units available.
