The muns polar regions...

Yeah I don't know which biome and i tried to land... (rolled) got a kerb out and somehow looked INSIDE :o the mun to see that there were hundreds of deep holes in the terrain? Which is probably close to being called an easter egg (not as deep as the Moholes)

I tried to land at the north biome which (as seen in the picture) has almost 90 degree slopes! Is it meant to be like that?

It cant have a 90 degre slope everywhere innit? land on a flatter bit.... And I believe it is meant to be like that if it was coded as that....

The procedurally generated crater could have overlapped (a lot not like craters in each other) so much so that it just created massive pits and stuff. And trust me: there are very very few flat bits in the polar regions...

Well I trust you as I have only been to 70 degre N in lat just at the start of the 4000m high plateau. That was trying to reach the northern mun arch which unfortunately was buried. Didnt venture any further but I had the impression it would be the same all the way to the pole concidering the data I got from ISA mapsat... Maybe the trick is to land on top of the peaks in that case

Munar poles are just whack.

Managed to land on one of the peaks in .21, there are a few mountains with some (barely) flat bits a few degrees around the north pole.

They're pretty high up (>2000m elevation) and not exactly large - I used basically a Stayputnik with engines and found it difficult. Not sure how well 3 kerbal science landers can hold up on those crazy slopes.

Also, if it gets dark, it stays dark. Illuminators can save your kerbal's lives(definitely saved mine).

Not too sure about the science yield, but imo the surface samples would be really interesting.

My 6th Mun Mission was one the poles (North in this case), and I have to say it was a bit tricky getting a flat spot. I actually managed to inadvertently find a decent plateau to get my lander on, so got to do some great Science on a EVA. Planted a flag on it just so I could aim for that landing spot on future missions.

Lol that one was my sixth landing as well seems to be cursed as I have retried it before and crashed.. Then the rescue mission crashed as well...

In all the hundreds of hours I've played KSP - and many dozens of missions to the Mun - I've never actually visited her poles until 0.22 gave me a reason. And I can confirm it has some seriously hostile terrain. Tall peaks to smash into, steep slopes to tip you over... Bring a stable lander and plenty of fuel to maintain altitude while you look for a good spot to set down! I'm actually really happy with the new challenges 0.22 has thrown my way. Can't wait for biomes to be added to other bodies.

My little spot is at:

88° 32' 49" N

202° 17' 27" E

For visual reference, it's not far from the big crater on the northern hemisphere.

I haven't been to the Munar poles in 0.22, but I liked building bases there in earlier versions. There is/was(?) a nice plateau near the south pole with a lot of low ridges running across it. The tops of those ridges were in perpetual sunlight and had a constant view of Kerbin. It was perfect for a base, since vertically mounted solar panels could rotate to track the sun as it circled around just above the horizon.

you know that only kerbol and mun has biomes with poles?

Yes but it looks like lost of planets and moons has strange features with them. Moho has the hole at north pole, it looked like it looked like it had something similar for the south on the map. This caused me to both do an probe followed by an maned landing.

Seen that Eve has some strange mountains and cliffs.
