Something This Forum Lacks

I've recently realized that when writing/editing a post with the word "Kerbal" in it, it underlines it as incorrect. I really feel that considering this IS the KERBAL Space Program forum, the name of the main discussion topic should be considered vocabulary.

Also, the names of planets and moons should go by the same rule and not count as incorrectly-spelled words.

Just a thought.

Thanks For Reading,

Happy Flying! :D

I think that's a function of your browser's spellcheck feature, not the forum.

Yeah, there's no fancy spellcheck feature on the forum that I'm aware of. That's all done via browsers' own dictionaries and spellcheck features. You can disable them entirely, if you wanted to... It shouldn't be too hard to add the words it detects as incorrect to your user dictionary :)

does the little red squiggly bother people that much?

I for one absolutely applaud ANYBODY who gets bothered by those. It means they're actually concerned about their spelling and trying to be as literate and intelligible as possible with the community. This is a trait that is missing more and more these days. ^_^

I don't see how saying "I think" before a fact is somehow more polite than simply stating the fact.

You can't see any subtle difference in saying "I think it might be something else" or "you got it wrong"?

Ok.

In short - yes! Squiggly lines bother me quite a bunch.

I'm specially unsettled when it corrects a word I know is right. I then have to google that word to get a definition which often proves the auto-correct wrong...

I take much pride of my correct spellnig, see

This, 1000 times this....

Yes the squiggle bothers me, it's bothering me right now when it's telling me in the quote above Deadweasel is 2 words not one. Now it's bothering me right there....

  • 2 weeks later...

You people are more concerned about spelling than the hundreds of Kerbals that died today... or any other day for that matter!

Why doesn't anyone think of the kerbals? Is their life that cheap? can nothing be done to save these poor idiotic fools?

Oh well, Space at any cost by the looks of it.

God Speed kerbals... see you in Hell, motherfu....errrr.... I better stop. :)

DEADWEASEL is underlined for two reasons, either one could be true.

1) Its a typo

2) He should be watched, he is either;

A) ...going places...

B) ...is going to destroy the Kerbal Universe..."

There could also be a third reason I suppose....

3) Great people are always made to stand out.

:)

Thinking on it, why not all three?

It could work! Oooh, the possibilities! :D

("Oooh" is not spelled correctly, it seems...)
