for those asking, my sig references the Novikov self-consistency principle, which states that anything that could cause a temporal paradox (i.e. time travel) is impossible, by virtue of paradoxes being impossible by definition. "All the fun stuff" refers to FTL drives like Alcubierre fields and Krasnikov tubes which, due to their ability to get ahead of a beam of light, can be said to travel in time (create a closed timelike curve, to be exact) and thus may be prohibited by the universe because paradoxes are impossible.
