Riddles

If my reading is correct... it's Monday. The object of the riddle is one, plus six siblings (the seven-day week). The two lazy ones are Saturday and Sunday, followed immediately by Monday. And of course, nobody likes Monday, since it usually signals the start of a working week (although not necessarily for everyone).

:)

Methinks you got it.

Question: There is a story that a man and not a man

Saw and did not see a bird and not a bird

Perched on a branch and not a branch

And hit him and did not hit him with a rock and not a rock. how is this possible?

Oh good god. Is there even a word for this? Hmm... I'm not sure there is one word for this. I'll have to do a breakdown:

There is a story that a man and not a man - ...Okay then. So, it IS a man... like, man by nature, but not technically or something? Or is it 2 people? Maybe the first one, but that makes no sense.

Saw and did not see a bird and not a bird - Like a hallucination? Like, he "saw" something, but really saw nothing? Or did he think he saw a bird, but something else, as if he's legally blind or something? But a bird and not a bird. Perhaps he only thought it was a bird? Maybe an aeroplane, or another living thing that flies? I'm not sure what could look like a bird but also fly. Perhaps a bat or something?

Perched on a branch and not a branch - This one's easy. A branch is a long stretch of wood. What acts like such, and looks like such is a reed. I've been to the marshes, dude.

And hit him and did not hit him with a rock and not a rock. - Yeah, this guy's trippin'. A rock is a very broad term. It can mean an ordinary road rock, a shiny segment of jewelry, such as a stone, or a pearl. It could also mean a priceless artifact, or even a family heirloom. But even so, hit and did not hit? I'm starting to think this guy is a cyclops. This kinda goes back to the point of this person does not see well.

5 minutes of thinking, and I think I can guess something. Here we go:

A legally blind castrated male was out at night, and he happened upon a bat[?] perched atop a reed. The man pitched a jewel at the bat, and although it didn't strike, he heard it impact the reed, the bat got away, but he assumed it had hit based on the noise and his lack of good sight.

Is this one of those scenario riddles?

"A man and not a man" well, that suggests a woman.

"Saw and did not see" - I'm not sure, but I suspect that one of "saw" and "see" is not referring to eyesight.

"a bird and not a bird" - could be a slang usage of 'bird'. A woman, or perhaps a person sticking their finger up in an obscene gesture.

"a branch and not a branch" - Maybe a sense of branch other than a tree? Maybe wood, that might have been a branch at one point but is now a floor or some furniture.

"And hit him and did not hit him" - Really not sure again. Also, seems to contradict the first part being a woman...

"a rock and not a rock" - Rock cake? Blackpool rock? A diamond?

The only actual guess I can come up with then is a wedding.

EDIT: Or, I could simply Google. My second guess is

"A eunuch who did not see well saw a bat perched on a reed and threw a pumice stone at him which missed."

This one shouldn't be too hard. Then again, I usually think that when I write them.

Called a colour, seems unfair,

Called some water, I have more,

With a beach that has no sands,

And lights turned on by famous hands.

The rock? Best made to disappear.

The garden? Place for eye and ear.

So cross the tracks, but look both ways,

And hope for many sunny days.

I *would* have to get the last post on a page...newpage repost

None of the above guesses.
