Nope. What's the logic there?

Small am I

Containing that which may be larger.

--Cables are comparatively tiny compared to the information they can contain, were it in a more physical form.

Plain is me

Containing great treasure.

--Information can be extremely valuable.

Fly I cannot

But I am moved miles upon miles in the blink of an eye.

--It doesn't quite fit with the wording, but the second line here could work if it referred to the contents as opposed to the thing itself.

Not blue, nor red or green I am

Except that you should find me upon a morning.

--I'm not sure it even fit with this at all. Oh well.

Millions of me die every day

And the next day are replaced.

--Well, I'm not sure about millions, but cables steadily wear away and need regular replacing. Considering the number of cables that comprise much of our world these days, it's hardly a stretch to say that a great many are replaced every day.

A shadow maybe?

Edit: The riddle:

Small am I

Containing that which may be larger.

Plain is me

Containing great treasure.

Fly I cannot

But I am moved miles upon miles in the blink of an eye.

Not blue, nor red or green I am

Except that you should find me upon a morning.

Millions of me die every day

And the next day are replaced.

What am I?

Okay, Cantab got it. There's actually two different answers; if you guys want to you can keep guessing for the second, or cantab can do their riddle.

Small am I

Containing that which may be larger.

Plain is me

Containing great treasure.

Fly I cannot

But I am moved miles upon miles in the blink of an eye.

Not blue, nor red or green I am

Except that you should find me upon a morning.

Millions of me die every day

And the next day are replaced.

What am I?

1. Eggses are small

2. But when they hatch they grow into larger things

3. Eggs aren't brightly colored

4. Reference to The Hobbit "And golden treasure lies inside". Paraphrased to avoid giving it away.

5. Eggs/Chickens can't fly

6. But thousands of them are shipped across the world at great speed every day.

7. No, duh.

8. A morning-not any morning-Easter. Easter eggs are usually brightly colored.

9. The world eats a billion eggs every day

10. Eats a billion more next day.

Well, I have one after all.

'twas a day, like no other,

'twas a day, there'll be another,

'twas a day, the routine broke,

'twas a day, the woman spoke,

'twas a day, to end, it's fate,

'twas a day, to celebrate,

'twas a day, that much is plain,

'twas a riddle, to puzzle your brain.
