It wasn't one I knew of, no. But when I thought of how things could start and end in numbers I quickly thought "hang on, Roman Numerals", checked Wikipedia for what 500 was, and the solution became apparent.

Anyway, here's a prose one, since I didn't feel like writing poetry. Hopefully it's not as perplexing as my last.

Making light of tragedy, making mere numbers of patient art and science, a grid at times in a grid in a grid. For many the answer's close at hand, while some must travel near or far, but however long it takes I hope you keep smiling.
