This is not a Spoiler, it is a game Glitch.

I wouldnt call it a bug, because it isn't bugging anybody :)

I really cant say why there are these pyramids in the game and why exactly they cause these mysterious/weird Kerbal motions but it is worth a look to everybody.

The "wrapper" of the surface has to join up with itself somewhere, right? For simplicity's sake, it also makes sense that the join point has as few polygons as possible, or you might end up with a mesh that has gaps and tears in it, resulting in pretty much insta-death for any kerbal that goes near.

As for the crazy camera, again, it's a polar axis thing. It does the same at the north pole of any of the planets/moons.

I actually stuck a flag about 20cm from the exact tip of that pyramid. Couldn't get all the way up the top as much as I tried, just kept falling over.

Landing in that area is a nightmare. Took me about 2 minutes searching for a landing site.

Does KSP do this on the south pole of planets too?

I'd imagine so; it wouldn't matter which pole was which, right?

As for the crazy camera, Harv mentioned today in the devnotes that he's going to go through the camera code and optimize it for 0.23--we might see a dramatic decrease in craziness near the poles!
