The longest game ever?

I find myself restarting the game a lot, only having games run for a year or a few.

So my question is this who has the longest game running?

and these questions:

what goals did you have when you started?

what goals did you complete?

what goals do you have left?

stock or modded?

oh and a side question:

As steam likes to keep track of your game play hours... how many hours have you play?

Recently I have been playing Race Into Space and have decided I want to follow the nasa missions

I therefore have three missions projects planned so far:

Project Kerbin: Obtain all landed, EVA, atmospheric, suborbital, and orbital Science that a Kerbal can get.

Project Mystery: Obtain all landed, atmospheric, suborbital, and orbital Science a sci-Jr an Mystery goo can get.

Project Mun: Obtain all science that a Kerbal can get on the Moons.

I am currently in phase 1 of project Mun. I am building a two manned vehicle that follows a MOR mission profile. I may have to post pone and develop a Mystery 2 series capable of Mun landing and return instead.

well, i tried to flag every body, but found that my dV calculations SUCK....

so, i added 30,000 science points, 10 mods and a warp drive...

...now i am struggling to get the damn warp ship into orbit

I've been restarting every time I get close to maxing out the tech tree for some reason. I seem to loose interest when I have all of the parts and building my launch vehicles becomes simple. I guess I can just limit myself to launching everything with small low tech parts : )

- post .22 average is 6 months to 1 year

I have a Grand tour in process, that's been away from Kerbin for 6 years and is exploring the Joolian system. It has at least another 6 years ahead of it as the last destination, Eeloo, won't provide a transfer window for at least that long. And then of course there's the return trip to Kerbin. Certainly my longest mission ever.

As for hours on steam, I'm approaching 260.

I forgot exact length.. but my longest mission was to the modded planet/planetoid "inacessible" a few days ago which lasted for thousands of days and still goes on since jeb ended up getting stranded there.

I have no idea how long i have been playing KSP in realtime since i got it from squad score so no time tracking.

My longest game would be 18 years in 0.22.

ah, I thought you were asking if KSP was the longest game, to which I'd say yeah, I've been playing for over a year and still I've got loads of things to do. I don't think there is an end to it.

But yeah my longest running save was somewhere back around 0.18 and it was 22 years. In 0.22 I've not hit a year yet in any of my saves.

I think it was 8 years in a .20 save, I have a bad habit of restarting a lot.

Whenever I make a new profile, I always make an early mission a long term goal: launching a Voyager-like probe on a comet-like orbit, equipped with a small docking port.

The objective is to rendezvous and recover the probe on its return passage past Kerbin's orbit. The orbit of the one I sent in my presently used profile is 33 years and I'm currently at year 1.5ish.

I got so caught up in making a thread, I forgot to answer my questions....

My longest was 5 years, mostly having to do with Jeb getting to Jool and a lot of deaths...

Right now my game is at 1 year and 2 days. My long term goal is hitting every biomes and flagging them... so far that's at 5...

Gravity assists take a lot of patience and can rack up game time quickly. I did a "grand tour" to try to max the tech tree in as few launches as possible, and it got me up to 36 years (13,385 days) after one mission.
