colaboy
so far in 0.23 the fuel type change doesn't work, it may show different fuel during assembly but once taken onto the launchpad the fuel reverts back to default liquidfuel/oxidizer setting
AbeS
1 - What do you mean by how? They are just stretchies with thrust.2 - balloon tanks have less dry mass, but you can't attach stuff on their surface.3 - The fairing textures can be found in the Realism Overhaul mod. JeBuSBrian
First off, let me say that I love this mod. I have no complaints whatsoever. It just works. I do have a request / suggestion though. The Spherical / Toroidal Tanks mod has a window that comes up in the Action Groups screen that has a button for texture swapping. Any chance that could be incorporated into Stretchy? And along the same vein, any chance of getting the sizing options into its own window like above? For instance, enter a volume for a given radius and hit a button, and it resizes to be exactly the needed size?

NathanKell
Boamere, the various exotic super-stretchies are really only for use with MFS. Balloon tanks are things like the Atlas or Centaur, where the wall of the pressure vessel is also the wall of the stage (and thus requires pressurization for rigidity). Lighter tank, less strong. The Cryo tanks are insulated to prevent LH2/LOx boiloff. The Service Module tank is for use in service modules and pressure-fed upper stages. Again, all this will not actually change anything if you don't have MFS.For the SRBs, there are two: one with a sea-level optimized nozzle (for boosters) and one with a vacuum optimized nozzle (for upper stages). You place and stretch like a normal tank, but also use G to control how long they burn (and thus, inversely, how much thrust they produce--longer burntime = less thrust, since total fuel quantity and impulse stay the same). The nozzles should be showing up on the two stretchy SRBs if you've installed correctly. CoriW
Wait so, is this or is this not compatible with 0.23?
NathanKell
CorlW: If you're using it with MFS then it's dependent on MFS which has an experimental release out but nothing official. If you're using it without MFS, try it; I think it works.
PlasmaDynamics
I dont think this is compatible with 0.23.
drtedastro
I am having no problems with it. SRB's, different tanks and service module have all been tested and are on 'working' ships at this time....at least for me...

orcman
Has anyone suggested cubic / box stretchy tank shapes yet?I think for rovers, probes and space stations the flat areas could be very versatile.Stretching in all three axis would offer ultimate flexibility.BTW This mod has quickly become one of my core mods.A big thank you on developing and continuing such a useful one. MKSheppard
Some suggestions for Stretchy SRB/Tanks:Is it possible to manually type in the parameter you want, e.g. you hit ALT-[x] and you can put in the precise length or diameter you desire? rosenkranz
Currently using the official v7 without MFT. It appears to work but no matter what you do the tanks in the VAB, on that launch pad they have LFO in them. Doesn't matter if you use 'g' to toggle the fuel type or the tweakables to partially empty the tank.Anyone seeing this or is it just me?
AbeS
I think you need v8

rosenkranz
I think you need v8from the post on the last page, v8 is experimental still and v7 should work unless using the experimental MFT. Correct me if i'm wrong.
AbeS
not really sure but I know 0.23 broke most plugins
rosenkranz
of course if i'm wrong does anyone have links to the dev builds for MFS and ST?
AbeS
Here they are:MFT v4 pre10: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ch8sw3iqtzv9dt7/ModularFuelTanks_v4_pre10.zipORRF v4 pre10: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g49soc45iraz5ji/RealFuels_v4_pre10.zipunchanged since pre9:RO: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yt5f90v47cqpwfx/RealismOverhaul_v3pre2.zipNote that in RF/RO engine throttles are limited (by type, techlevel, and the individual engine). Some can't throttle at all, some can throttle deeply; most U and L don't get any throttling until TL4 or so. As before, note that stock RCS is (a) modular and ( defaults to hydrazine, which is *not* ALL_VESSEL.Link to stretchy pre for use with these: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rcemfqzq1ci4tnw/StretchySRB_v8pre1.zip

katalex-3
Solid fuel in newest version 8 (and 7 too) - is very bad . I regular see "black squaer" instead rocket launch when I use stretch solid fuel. Edited December 29, 2013 by katalex-
NathanKell
katalex-3: what other mods are you using?I'm releasing v8.v8 == \/ ==*0.23 compatibility.*Fixed StretchySRB issue with thrust reverting due to .23 issues.*Fixed to work with MFT v4 or RF v4.*Should work properly for non-MFT/RF users again (finally!) bjo_hart
Hi NathanKell,my problem is that everytime i create a tank for monopropellant only in VAB, on the launchpad the game puts normal fuel and oxidizer for the standard size of the tank besides of the monopropellant in it...I use the new v8 version.Do you have any suggestions?(Sorry for my bad englisch...)
NathanKell
bjo_hart: Doh! I know exactly why that's happening. I finally fixed it for MFT/RF, but forgot to copy to this (because, um, I only ever use strechy with RF). Will fix.
