[0.20.2] Gaby's Quick And Dirty Miscellania: v1.3

Made a few radial docked decouplers. The idea was that most radial decouplers don\'t look like they would allow personnel to pass through. These ones are designed with double-doors and a docking-type connection, so that your astronauts can pass from one stage to the next, etc. Purely cosmetic.

Textures are meh. Mostly just base KSP textures, plus a few CC textures found online.

Also made a 'node-style' version. It basically lets you turn any normal stack module into a 4-direction node (plus up and down).

Also made a vertical decoupler version. Textures even more meh. Needs a bit of work.

If anyone particularly wants them, I\'ll add them. Otherwise I\'ll wait until I have more stuff for a real update.

I\'d like them please - and they look pretty good to me :)

Bump. Update v0.5:

-Added the airlocks to the pack, despite my animosity towards them, they\'re handy to have.

-Added the Prometheus LLHL FT/7C. It\'s a 9.45-meter wide monstrosity that lets you mount SEVEN 3-meter tanks. It\'s for lifting space stations into space (I noticed a lot of people on the boards complaining about not being able to lift their stations. So here you go. Go nuts.

-Added two 7-coupled vanilla engines (one silisko edition balanced, one vanilla balanced). These were just so we had something a bit more handy than those bulky 3-meter engines, and less laggy than 7 LFE\'s on a 7-coupler.

Nice parts package

but is there any way to get the huge tank combined with the 7 engines platform to work in 0.14?

(aside from altering world parameters that is)

For me it always deconstructs on the launchpad, even if I make a rocket just with a commando capsule, the tank and 7 of the 7 engine platforms below the tank (without doubt due to the massive weight of the tank, that probably is too much, even for 7 * 7 engine platforms)

This isn\'t a 0.14 problem. This is a problem with large parts in general, and anything where you have extreme forces.

I recommend using the kebylon launch tower (make sure you change the cfg\'s to be compatible with 0.14, you need to change the maxtemperature variable to '200' or so). Use the kebylon launch tower super-struts to attach the tanks to the tower, just to keep it from tearing itself apart on the launchpad, as such huge, heavy modules are wont to do. It also helps to add normal struts attaching the engines to the tank. (but if you add too many, that can cause issues too). I recommend using the novapunch heavy struts.

For simpler designs, you don\'t need the kebylon, you just need to strut the engines on tight.

If you\'re still having problems, post your craft file and I\'ll take a look see.

I just did some testing and I confirmed that the big landing legs cause the ships while folded as for some reason they have a torque effect on the ship.

EDIT 1:The hell of the thing is I\'ve just checked and the part parameters in the config file are the same as the stock leg... which doesn\'t have this issue.

EDIT 2:Except for the Breaking Force & Breaking Torque entries.

I guess these parameteres were missing from Harvester\'s part, since apparently these forces are only calculated correctly in the part\'s deployed position. Removing the parameters solved the issue.

I\'m not sure if I understand what you\'re describing. What sort of torque effects occur when folded?

I added the breakingforce and breakingtorque lines because I figured bigger legs would need to withstand bigger forces, since they\'d probably be put on larger craft. If you leave those lines out, those values are set to the default.

At least that\'s how it works with other parts, maybe foldable legs are different?

Could you maybe post pics showing exactly what you\'re seeing?

Ah, I think I see the problem. I can fix this when I have the time. The problem is that the leg colliders collide with the ship\'s collider. So the legs bounce around when retracted.

I never noticed, because my ships are always too big to get visibly knocked around by such small masses bouncing.

Edit: I think I fixed the problem. At least, i no longer see it in any of my craft. Also: bump for v0.8.

Odd. Seems to work fine for me. Hmm. Are you on a mac? I\'ve never tested it on a mac. What version of KSP are you running? Does it just hang on game startup, or refuse to load the module in the vab? Alternately, have you tried re-downloading? I\'ll take a look around and see if I can find anything different about the 3m nuke reactor.

Anyone else have this problem?
