Permanent changes to planet's orbits.

Firstly, I apologise if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find much of anything similar.

But I've had the idea swimming around now to change some of the orbits of the game's planets, like hyper-edit. But unlike hyper-edit have the changes stay permanent.

It seems possible as mods like the real-scale solar system do this, is it a simple matter of editing a config somewhere?

Well, since everything in RSS is configurable, you can just use that (and remove all the changes you don't want).

But the main answer is: the actual configs for the planets are hard-coded. RSS modifies their orbits from their originals at game startup.
