Why can't I transmit when I'm EVA?

Anyone know why our Kerbinauts can't transmit EVA reports from their suits? Is this something that just hasn't been implemented or is there a mod for it?

Probably because they have no antenna, so you need to board a vessel with a trasnmitter.

Kerbals in an External Seat can do EVA reports, and, if the vessel is landed, can also take Surface Samples. And since they are physically attached to the spacecraft in that seat, you have the option to instantly transmit those, if you so desire.

Have you noticed how much power transmitting takes? A Kerbal would need a coal power plant in his backpack to transmit back to KSC.

I didn't know that, but then I don't have anything with external seats yet (like a rover). Good info.

*unkills the thread* or NUCLEAR FUSION POWER JETPACKS O: !!!! We do have Nuclear Fusion Reactors being tested and some day, will replace Nuclear Fission Reactors all together!! Because they're SAFE o:, no catastrophic meltdown will ever happen. Also very tiny little radiation, that with a Nuclear Fission Reactor, you have to wait for months to get inside the Core Chamber after having shut it down. A Nuclear FUSION Reactor, even if it has been running for OVER A YEAR, you can walk right into the Core Chamber after its been shut down with practically no risk to yourself or to anyone else. So if a Kerbal had a Nuclear Fusion Back Pack, he'd be perfectly safe and have the most powerful battery on his back in history o:
