Disabling Remote Tech 2?

I've noticed I can remove all the remote tech plugins and keeps the parts without problem, but I haven't tested if putting them back in again will restore everything. Try backing up your save files and checking.

I love Remote Tech 2. But sometimes I wish I could just launch something without bothering with antennas etc. Is there any way to temporarily disable Remote Tech 2 without removing the whole mod?

Well no that not possible,not with the current architecture of the game.

When I'm launching probes and satelites into keo or beyond I tend to have a manned launcher so that there is no need for an active antenna during laucnh

I am sure that this post is beyond dead, however this information is not 100% true. You can disable the RemoteTech restrictions temporarily (If you get stuck like I did :) )

Mods are made up of multiple types of files. These include Parts and Plugins (dlls). Just rename the RemoteTech2.dll to RemoteTech2.dll.disabled and the parts will still be valid, but not operational.

What if I rename it back too. Normal would the game be the same as before?

@marksh16, please be aware that you are asking about a problem that occurred 6 years ago, and the game has changed significantly during that time.  Most of RemoteTech's original features were basically incorporated into the stock game with the CommNet system.   Are you sure this question is valid for your game setup?

Yes but I want to switch back to commnet. But my satilites and other things use remote tech anthenas. So what do I do?
